I've not seen photo #4 before. When was this taken? HJ looks so tired.
ReplyDeleteDanielle, we can't say for certain, but we suspect this photo was taken some time in 2006 after the completion of "Seo Dong Yo" when Jo Hyun-Jae left his old management company because of a contract dispute. This is based on his hairstyle and the weary look in his eyes. He was engaged in a legal battle which he never spoke about. At the Korea Fan Meeting, when asked to name the "Sorrow" (among other things) part of his life, he said: "Being betrayed by someone I trusted" but did not elaborate. He could be referring to this difficult period of his life when he could not work for a year (hence the blank period in his career) before the problem was solved. It was unfortunate that Jo Hyun-Jae could not immediately follow up on the success of "Seo Dong Yo", but he is not a flash in the pan. We are sure after he returns from his stint in the army, he will star in many more movies and TV series.
ReplyDeleteWe all support JHJ. He is such a good actor. Certainly, he is not a flash in the pan. After the military services, he will be more mature and become a superstar.
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd photo is taken at the TV show after SDY, right? The whole cast is there and JHJ is sitting in the centre at the front row, but he does not speak much and sometimes looks like he'd rather not be there.
